Job Summary
Remote Certified Coder role focusing on anesthesia coding. Abstracts clinical information from medical records, assigns ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes to patient records, reviews CPT/ICD-10/ASA/HCPCS on charge tickets, and supports billing with data accuracy and DRG assignments. Responsibilities include ensuring complete documentation, returning incomplete tickets to providers when needed, identifying cosmetic/prepaid cases for dual-ticket generation (insurance and patient responsibility), delivering coded charts to billing, assisting AR/billing, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to information security policies. Requires CCS-P or CPC certification and at least 2 years of healthcare coding experience; HS diploma or equivalent required. Works remotely from states AZ, TX, TN, NH, or NC; base pay ranges from $22-$26/hour, with potential discretionary bonuses and benefits for full-time hires.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- CCS-P or CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification from AAPC or AHIMA
- Minimum of 2 years coding experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
