Job Summary
Decontaminate surgical instruments and endoscopes, prepare, sterilize, and package surgical instruments, and assemble case carts for surgical procedures. Decontaminate equipment as assigned, distribute medical and surgical supplies, and maintain proper documentation within the Central Processing Department. Work under the general supervision of the Manager, Central Processing or designee, performing duties as assigned within the scope of the position. This role requires a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification within 18 months of acceptance and experience with sterilization procedures, equipment management, and case cart assembly. Candidates must have computer experience, including familiarity with MSM and Meditech, and possess excellent communication and record-keeping skills. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- A Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification within 18 months of acceptance of position
- Computer experience
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Record keeping and documentation skills
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
- Position requires rotation to Southcoast Surgerycenter at 300D Faunce Corner Rd Dartmouth MA
