Job Summary
Greet residents and visitors professionally, provide companionship and safe non-medical care, and perform routine tasks with little to no supervision. Take vital signs, assist with walking, light exercise, bathing, dressing, and grooming, and perform dining assistance including serving meals and cleaning up. Manage light housekeeping, make beds, change linens, and iron as needed. Engage residents in physical and mental exercises, encourage activity participation, and provide medication reminders with proper documentation. Record daily care notes and maintain activities in the electronic medical record system while following the written service plan to maintain resident independence. Ensure resident safety by supervising the home environment and completing calendar reminders and mail distribution.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- one to three months' related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certificate of Completion of Caregiver Training Program approved by NCIA board to include ALTP number with supervisory, personal and directed hours
- Current or able to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Current Adult CPR and First Aide Card
- Current AZ Food Handlers Card
