Job Summary
Conduct initial assessments of patients with orthopedic pathology, taking vitals, phlebotomy, and applying/removing casts and splints. Escort patients to exam rooms, perform wound care, suture removal, and gait training, while instructing patients on prescribed home exercise programs. Manage clinic operations by maintaining supplies, preparing charts, transcribing patient messages, and entering data into the EMR. Perform medication preparation and provide occasional sports medicine event coverage as needed under direct physician supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the State of Florida
- Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Current, valid Florida Driver's license that passes the Motor Vehicle Department background check
- Clearance of a Level II Background Check from the Collier County Public Schools
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- One year of Orthopedic Clinical work experience
- Ability to obtain American Society of Orthopedic Professionals Registered Orthopedic Technologist certification within 6 months of hire
- Basic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data
