Job Summary
The Certified Athletic Trainer provides medical coverage at local high school events, focuses on injury prevention and health maintenance, and manages rehabilitation following illness or injury in athletes in compliance with the Illinois Athletic Trainers Practice Act. Responsibilities include medical coverage at games/practices/tournaments, communicating athlete status to athletes/parents/coaches/physicians, coordinating with school athletic directors, evaluating and treating patients per guidelines, conducting assessments, documenting patient education for patients and families, and performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or Entry Level Masters
- BOC certification and IL AT license or eligible
- Approximately one to two years' experience of progressively responsible related experience
- Holds current CPR/AED certification or willing to obtain certification
- Clear and effective communication skills with therapists and physicians
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and modalities
