Job Summary
Provide individual, group, and family counseling to patients affected by substance abuse, alcohol, or drugs. Help individuals and families develop healthy coping mechanisms while explaining addiction's effects on the family. Refer patients to appropriate community organizations and outside programs. Identify issues, create goals and treatment plans, and counsel patients on social issues including housing, employment, education, family issues, and basic living skills. This role supports clients in developing healthy coping mechanisms through direct counseling. Peer Support Specialists are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications

- ability to help individuals and families with an addiction to alcohol, drugs, or another substance
- ability to provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to patients
- ability to refer patients to appropriate community organizations and outside programs

- ability to identify issues and create goals and treatment plans
- ability to counsel patients on social issues including housing, employment, education, family issues, and basic living skills
- ability to counsel individuals or families affected by substance abuse
