Job Summary
Provide counseling services to patients with substance abuse addiction problems within the scope of their certification. Assess and analyze emotional conditions, explore possible solutions, and work within a treatment plan for mental and emotional adjustment. Teach clients coping skills and mechanics to manage addiction while providing treatment for mental, emotional, or substance use disorders. Complete duties consistent with respective licensure bodies and agency certifications. Hourly rate ranges from $25.00 to $33.30.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited school in a health or human services field
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
- Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders
- 2-3 years of experience providing substance use services in a healthcare setting
- Valid identification
- Valid CAC I or CAC II certification from the D.C. Department of Health or from another, endorsed U.S. Jurisdiction
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
- Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
- Bilingual candidates highly preferred
