Job Summary
Certified Activities Director to lead and oversee activity programs for residents at Wyant Woods Healthcare Center. Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating resident-centered activities; involving residents in individualized activity planning; attending and contributing to resident/family/departmental meetings; maintaining records; facilitating community engagement and fundraising efforts; and promoting positive relationships with residents, families, and community partners. Must demonstrate leadership, healthcare knowledge, ability to supervise staff, and adherence to long-term care regulations; candidates with a Bachelor's in therapeutic recreation (preferred) or a 90-hour activity professional course and continuing education are encouraged to apply. Full-time salaried role with comprehensive benefits and PTO; may require state driver’s license and CDL for transporting residents as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledgeable of activity practices, standards of practice, state practice acts and procedures, and laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care
- Prior management, supervisory, or leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation (preferred) or 90-hour course for activity professionals and continuing education
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Ability to deal tactfully with team members, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
- Ability to plan, organize, and conduct a variety of activities
- Possession of an active state driver's license (may be required)
- Possession of CDL license to drive a vehicle seating 16 passengers or more (may be required)
