Job Summary

Represent SkilledTradesBC to stakeholders, industry, employers, sponsors, and apprentices to promote the value and regulatory responsibilities behind skilled trade training in BC. Conduct compliance activities including education, promotion, inspection, audit, investigation, and enforcement while advising clients on the Skilled Trades BC Act and associated regulations. Perform preliminary assessments of complaints and applications, verify documentation, and prepare detailed written summaries of findings and decisions. Maintain current knowledge of legislation, update program databases, and participate in training new staff and public education workshops. Maintain a 37.50-hour hybrid work schedule with travel required and a valid BC driver's license.

  • A post-secondary education
  • Trades certification
  • Demonstrated success in working within the apprenticeship system as a coach, counsellor, or advisor
  • Experience in working with administrative legal frameworks
  • Ability to understand and interpret standards and legislation
  • Experience in deploying training, mentoring, and support models for regulatory teams
  • Experience applying investigation skills and analysis for inspection practice
  • Experience working with government, boards and senior leadership
