Job Summary
Conduct advanced scrub roles for operative procedures as a First Assistant or specialty-specific Certified Surgical Technologist, prioritizing complex daily activities to uphold the 30-minute guarantee for inpatients and 25-minute guarantee for outpatients. Utilize working knowledge of advanced technology such as navigation and daVinci systems to assist in reducing cost per case through improved preference card accuracy and supply choices. Serve as a resource person for the patient population and preceptor for team members. Requires one year of CST operating room experience with six months at the CST II level, proficiency in one specialty area, and valid BLS and CST certification.
Required Qualifications
- one (1) year of Certified Surgical Technologist operating room experience
- minimum of six (6) months at the CST II level
- proficiency in one (1) or more specialty area/service lines
- knowledge in one (1) or more additional specialty area/service lines
- BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
- CST: Certified Surg Technologist
- undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- broad knowledge of specialty procedures, instrumentation and equipment
- demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- working knowledge of computers
