CEQA Project Planner

Job Summary
Plan and monitor environmental research for assigned projects, evaluating potential impacts while ensuring compliance with CEQA, NEPA, and applicable state and federal regulations. Participate in multidisciplinary teams across disciplines including engineering, air quality, and land use to solve problems and prepare proposals. Exercise independent judgment to advise senior management and serve as a resource for technical approaches and staff training. Coordinate work with internal and external parties for document review, QA/QC, and document production. Represent the company at industry meetings and functions. Requires a Bachelor's in environmental science or urban planning with at least three years of industry experience, including direct project management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, urban planning, or a related discipline
- Broad-based science- and/or planning-related background
- Experience with city, county, and local (special districts/school districts) governments
- Experience with private development-oriented projects
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
- Understanding of CEQA and NEPA
- Understanding of other regulatory agency requirements, such as those for the USFWS, CDFW, CARB, SCAQMD (or other air districts), USACE, SWRCB, and others as appropriate
Desired Qualifications
- A master's degree
- One year of direct project management experience
- Preferable direct experience completing a variety of environmental documentation projects related to urban development and infrastructure projects throughout southern California
