Job Summary
Develop and execute a multi-year strategic business plan to scale operating assets from 100MW to 500MW. Oversee day-to-day operations, implement scalable systems, and lead quarterly board meetings while managing shareholder communications and compliance. Identify growth opportunities through acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic alliances, then prepare investment proposals and financial models for potential investors. Represent the company at industry events and investor meetings to communicate vision and value. Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional teams, drive talent acquisition, and oversee project development including site control, permitting, interconnection, and offtake negotiations. Establish relationships with utilities, regulators, and key stakeholders while managing the annual operating budget and long-range financial plan. Monitor energy market dynamics, regulatory developments, and the competitive landscape to inform strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in the renewable energy industry
- demonstrated track record of developing, financing, and operating utility-scale solar, wind, storage, or other clean energy assets
- Proven experience as a CEO, President, COO, or senior executive at a renewable energy developer, IPP, or closely related company
- direct responsibility for P&L, capital allocation, and board-level reporting
- Deep expertise in project development processes including site origination, permitting, interconnection, environmental review, and offtake structuring across multiple markets
- Experience sourcing, evaluating, and executing acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships in the energy sector
- Strong existing relationships with utilities, offtakers, developers, financial sponsors, tax equity investors, and lenders active in the renewable energy market
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- ability to represent the company effectively at all levels, from landowners and community stakeholders to institutional investors and senior utility executives
- Bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications
- MBA, JD, or advanced degree in engineering, finance, or a related field
- Experience working within a family office, founder-led, or privately held company structure
- comfort operating with entrepreneurial speed and discipline alongside a hands-on ownership group
