Job Summary

Centralized Appeals Unit Supervisor at University of New Orleans: oversee daily activities of the Eligibility Unit, conduct quarterly meetings with coordinators, perform quality control reviews, monitor deadlines, and support development of standards and procedures. Responsible for assembling statistical measurements for LDH reporting, acting as a point of contact for Medicaid personnel, training staff, conducting performance evaluations, recruitment, and ensuring staff knowledge of Medicaid policies and procedures. Requires 2+ years supervisory experience and 3+ years Medicaid appeals/eligibility experience; degree requirements as listed; proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office. Potential duties include interpreting policies, coordinating with LDH, and ensuring accurate processing prior to appeal hearings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or an Associate's degree plus three years of professional experience, or six years of professional experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum three years of professional experience with Medicaid appeals processes and procedures
  • Minimum three years professional experience with Medicaid eligibility including MAGI, Non-MAGI, Long Term Care and HCBW programs
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience
  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Acrobat Pro as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
