Job Summary
Lead hands-on STEM enrichment programs for 20-25 students after the school day in Austin, Georgetown, Hays, Leander, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. Prepare lessons, drive to elementary school locations, facilitate activities, and manage cleanup for two weekly programs. Participate in 1-2 office hours for material preparation and classroom management practice. Requires reliable transportation, group presentation skills, and time management. Mandatory ongoing training covers the Girlstart Method and gender equity in STEM.
Required Qualifications
- Reliable transportation, driving to and from respective programs is required for the position
- Available 2 afternoons (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays)
- Available around 2pm on program days
- Available for 5-8 hours/week
- Available for 1-2 office hours to practice, pack materials, and ask questions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with kids preferred
- Desire to empower and educate students in STEM
- Comfortable presenting to a group of students
- Classroom management skills helpful
- Proficient using Google Drive apps
- Strong time management skills
- STEM background
