Job Summary
Create assignments and communicate with OR charge nurses to ensure smooth surgical instrumentation and monitor throughput. Maintain CRCST certification, oversee quality standards, and operate autoclave units using biological and chemical tests. Order daily supplies, manage inventory, and perform tray assemblage and packaging for sterilization. Apply aseptic techniques, clean department surfaces, and restock patient care unit carts. Clean scopes by hand and utilize the medivator process for high-level disinfection. Participate in departmental performance improvement activities and assist with orientation for new personnel.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate (or equivalent)
- Registered Central Service Technician certification
- Minimum of 6 months experience in central sterile processing
- Must demonstrate strong work ethic
- Knowledge of standards as set forth by the IAHCSMM
