Job Summary
The Central Service Technician is responsible for decontaminating and inspecting surgical instruments, operating sterilizers according to departmental procedures, and maintaining sterile equipment for use in various hospital departments. Key duties include manually cleaning, assembling, and wrapping instrument trays, conducting biological monitoring of sterilization cycles, and ensuring equipment is transported and stored properly. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are essential, alongside a commitment to following strict safety protocols and guidelines for sterilization.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or next level of higher education
- Strong leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
- Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- One (1)- three (3) years of Central Service experience
- CRCST and/or a Surgical Technician background
