Job Summary
Conduct decontamination, assembly, high-level disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. Disinfect, inventory, and stock crash carts while delivering supplies to meet patient needs. Maintain work environments and mobile patient equipment on nursing units following infection control and safety guidelines. Answer telephones and handle front-line customer service. Perform quality assurance documentation for all processing steps and operate department systems. Adhere to aseptic procedures and universal precaution standards throughout daily operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification from the Certification for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Certified Or Registered Central Service Technician (HSPA) Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
- Provisional certification is acceptable
- 400 hours of on-hands training will need to be achieved prior to the expiration of the provisional certification
- Basic Computer skills able to navigate and operate our department system SPM
