Job Summary
The Central Reservations Agent handles outbound and inbound guest interactions to book reservations, input and organize reservation details in the PMS/front office system, manage changes and cancellations, block rooms for groups, and upsell hotel rooms per policy. The role requires professional guest service, accurate data entry, familiarity with room inventory, and effective communication via calls, email, and fax. The position includes on-site training with potential transition to a hybrid work-from-home schedule after ~60 days, emphasizing up-selling, yield management, and maintaining guest satisfaction. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel-operating systems, plus strong organization and adaptability, are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a customer service role
- Experience working in upscale/luxury hotel preferred
- Excellent telephone etiquette and verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to participate in a learning environment
- Ability to adapt to new software quickly
- Flexible schedule availability (weekends, nights, holidays)
