Job Summary
Central Processing Technician III responsible for performing duties of CP Tech I and II, mentoring CP Tech IIs/IIs, and coordinating the delivery of surgical instruments and supplies to Surgical Suites, Labor and Delivery, and Ambulatory Surgery. Oversees preceptor activities, maintains instrument inventories and OR supply carts to PAR levels, prints MD preference cards from the CP Department system, and maintains detailed logs and records. Requires CRCST or CSPDT certification, at least 5 years of relevant sterile processing experience, proficiency with department equipment (sonic, Sterrad, Steris, ETO, steam sterilizers), MS DOS-based systems and MS Office, and strong English communication with healthcare team members. Schedule is 40 hours with evenings and every 3rd weekend as needed; compensation and benefits described in posting. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or government recognized equivalent
- Certification as CRCST by IAHCSMM or CSPDT by ASHCSP
- Minimum 5 years experience collecting, cleaning, decontaminating, packing, and storing sterile instruments in accordance with industry standards
- Ability to operate department equipment (sonic, Sterrad, Steris, Ethylene Oxide, steam sterilizers) and MS DOS-based Microsoft Office and inventory/kit assembly systems
- Strong English communication skills (oral, written, telephone, electronic) with CP Department leadership and clinical staff
- Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Ability to interpret medical terminology and abbreviations
