Job Summary
The CPD Technician oversees and directs the workflow of CPD students and CPD Tech I, addressing equipment and supply issues in accordance with established policies while ensuring sterile instrumentation for complex procedures (e.g., Open Heart, Neurosurgery, Robotic) is ready and functional. The role requires knowledge of complex instrumentation, awareness of evolving industry standards, and acts as a resource and role model within the healthcare team, including input into staff evaluations and staff development on shift, in alignment with AAMI standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Sterile processing technician experience or related sterile processing
- Successful completion of sterile processing program (internal or external) Required
- Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) – CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution Upon Hire Required
- Or Registered Central Services Technician, Certified (CRCST) – IAHCSMM - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management Upon Hire Required
