Job Summary
Lead Center Store departments including Grocery, Frozen/Dairy, Natural & Organic, and Health & Beauty Care by adapting daily operations to business needs. Step in to lead teams during manager absences, ensuring standards for inventory, pricing, cleanliness, and sales floor conditions are maintained. Train and coach associates on performance expectations and company culture while verifying timekeeping and conducting performance reviews. Collaborate with store leadership to exceed guest expectations through product location assistance, special orders, and issue resolution. Maintain department cleanliness across work areas, shelving, coolers, and receiving zones. This full-time role includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with support for closing shifts and occasional outdoor inspections.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Full range of upper body motion in order to lift stock
- Ability to lift up 50-60 pounds on an occasional basis
- Proper training and knowledge of equipment such as hand jacks, balers, forklifts, hand trucks, and trash compactors
- Understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, with the ability to recognize and react to possible safety hazards
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Ability to walk in the store
- Ability to bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and humidity levels, moving between temperature-controlled areas, freezers, coolers, and the receiving area
- Ability to perform occasional outdoor tasks to inspect store property
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
- Ability to provide adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of leadership experience (manager or lead) in retail, grocery, warehouse, or restaurant
