Job Summary
Construct an interesting, secure, and enjoyable learning environment using space, materials, and routines that encourage play, exploration, and learning. Develop and implement integrated programs of activities appropriate to each child's developmental level while maintaining daily routines including diaper changing, feeding, reading, and cleaning. Support teacher-child interactions through effective communication, conflict resolution, and active supervision using the six Active Supervision Strategies. Assist with curriculum planning, classroom management, and parent engagement by communicating program activities and conducting home visits as needed. Perform assigned duties such as bus monitoring, kitchen tasks in compliance with CACFP, and reporting incidents or suspected abuse immediately to the Center Director. Maintain a clean, organized environment and complete all required reports and training on time.
Required Qualifications
- Must have completed high school or GED and provide proof of diploma
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, children, parents, and volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to working with different age groups of children
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively the duties required for the job including verbal ability to communicate, auditory capacity to respond to children and adults, visual ability to complete written assignments and physical ability to complete assignments given accommodations as required by law
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
- Must be able to bend and stoop
- Must be able to walk extended periods throughout the day monitoring
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color, peripheral depth and the ability to adjust focus
- Monday through Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
