Center Discharge Specialist

Job Summary
Track path results, task doctors for missing signatures, and call the lab if reports exceed policy timeframes. Review patient checkouts, enter recalls, and close orders once completed. Assist with patient scheduling gaps, mail discharge paperwork, and prepare prep packets with labels and consent forms. Break down charts for scan entry, audit records for accuracy, and run daily center schedules. Back up reception duties by checking patients in via EMR, verifying insurance, and screening calls. Maintain office supplies, machine toners, and file records while ensuring HIPAA confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have experience working in a medical office/environment.
- Speaks fluent English.
- Must be able to independently lift 25 pounds.
- Willingness to learn new tasks, be cross trained within the office, and be flexible with workload to help office flow, including assisting co-workers.
- Flexibility in working hours with willingness to work occasional overtime.
- Ability to communicate in person and by phone
- Ability to handle and resolve problems
- Ability to organize work material and/or charts to ensure accuracy of patient records
- Neat appearance and a professional demeanor
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little supervision
- Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages
- Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping
- Knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, minutes, and reports
