Job Summary
Center Director oversees daily operations of infant and toddler classrooms within Early Head Start center-based locations, provides guidance to teachers, monitors safety/attendance, supports enrollment policies, maintains records, and communicates with families. Responsible for planning transition activities, emergency procedures, and ensuring compliance with Head Start regulations, licensing, health, safety, and all applicable requirements. Requires directing staff (including 4+ people experience preferred), maintaining inventory and supplies, data analysis for program planning, and engaging in parent education/participation activities. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a CDA Infant/Toddler Credential with 12 ECE units, and at least 3 months of supervised field experience; preferred Associate’s Degree in ECE (or higher) with 12 ECE units and 1 year of supervisory experience in childcare. Bilingual English-Spanish helpful. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed. Must complete CPR/First Aid, Live Scan, TB screening, and drug/alcohol testing.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of a CDA Infant/Toddler Credential with 12 units of Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Must have a minimum of 3 months of supervised field experience
- CPR/First Aid training
- Live Scan Fingerprinting
