Job Summary
Center Director for the Cape Town Center with responsibility for the overall management of the center, including strategy and leadership, delivery of academic programs, student services, human resources, health, safety, and security, program evaluation, financial and legal management, facilities and housing, external relations and internships, marketing, and other duties as assigned. Requires a minimum of ten years of leadership in study abroad or international education, with Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred). Applicants must have authorization to work in Cape Town. The role calls for building and leading local partnerships, ensuring compliance and operational readiness, and delivering quality experiences for program participants.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of ten years of leadership experience in study abroad, international educational exchange, or related higher education setting
- Experience in leadership roles overseeing complex programs and operations
- Ability to recruit, hire, and onboard staff; manage center staff and faculty
- Ph.D. is preferred; Master’s degree or international equivalent required
- Authorization to work in Cape Town, South Africa
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with financial management, budgeting, and compliance
- Knowledge of U.S. and local academic institutions and cultures
- Ability to work within a large, collaborative international network
