Job Summary

Oversee daily operations of the academy, ensuring adherence to policies, health and safety standards, and provincial licensing regulations. Manage enrollment targets, budgeting, and resource planning while supervising the ECE team through performance reviews and professional development. Act as the primary point of contact for parents regarding child development, behavior, and concerns, organizing engagement events and facility tours. Implement developmentally appropriate learning programs aligned with research data and maintain appropriate child-staff ratios in a clean, hazard-free environment. Conduct regular safety checks, emergency drills, and liaise with government agencies to ensure full compliance. Full-time role with flexibility for early mornings or late afternoons; requires current First Aid and CPR certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related field from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a licensed childcare facility, including supervisory or leadership roles
  • Strong experience in team leadership and operational management
  • Strong ability to lead, manage, and inspire a team of early childhood educators
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, parents, children and licensing authorities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle administrative, financial, and educational tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to handle unexpected situations with professionalism and creativity
  • Strong understanding of child development, safety regulations, and early learning standards
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector search
  • Valid Child Care First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain within the first three months of employment
  • Ability to engage in active play and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Full-time role with flexibility required for early mornings or late afternoons depending on the facility's hours
  • Indoor work in a childcare center with children aged 3-5 years, with some outdoor supervision required
  • High level of responsibility and interaction with children, staff and parents

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification in center management or leadership
  • Additional training or certification in Childcare Management or Administration
  • Experience working in culturally diverse environments or with children from various backgrounds
  • Experience using digital platforms for attendance management, child management, and parent communication
