Job Summary
Center Aide – Part Time role within the Head Start program, assisting in food service and classroom support. Responsibilities include helping prepare and serve meals, cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and facility, transporting food to designated sites, assisting as a backup for the Food Service Manager with nutrition documentation, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting staff, parents, volunteers and children. Requires a high school diploma or GED, at least three months of food-service experience, a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel overnight for training. Must pass tuberculosis screening annually, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and wear non-slip footwear and cut-resistant gloves in the kitchen. Start ASAP; salary ranges from $12.75 to $15.56 per hour depending on experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three months experience working in food service
- Valid driver’s license
- Access to transportation with liability insurance and willingness to use a vehicle for Agency related travel
- Must be able to travel out of area overnight to attend training
- Able to pass tuberculosis screening annually and initial health examination
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform related physical activities
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations
