Job Summary
Collaborate with the teaching team to plan activities and tailor curriculum to meet children's social, emotional, physical, literacy, and cognitive development needs. Share responsibility for proper care and cleanliness of the classroom and center while supporting high-quality preschool programming. Work under the direction of a Lead Teacher in a Head Start setting, providing 20 hours per week for 38 weeks per year with up to 50 weeks as needed. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, experience working with young children, and current CPR and First Aid certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with young children
- Other Requirements: Experience in an early childhood setting
- ability to function autonomously and as part of a team
- excellent communication skills
- considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry, and perform other high-energy activities
- competency with Microsoft Office
- ability to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Pre-employment SBI, DMV, Maine and National Sex Offender Registry, DHHS fingerprinting, fraud, and federal debarment background checks
- valid driver's license
- travel within the service area
