Job Summary
Collaborate with lead teachers to instruct a class of 12 students, planning and teaching daily activities aligned with the STEM-based curriculum. Manage classroom operations by establishing rules, promoting multi-cultural education, and supervising projects and field trips. Attend to children's basic needs including feeding and dressing while maintaining a safe, healthy environment through appropriate behavior management. Establish consistent communication with parents by writing weekly updates on class and individual student progress. Maintain a full-time 40-hour schedule from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm in person at Birch Tree Academy.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience
- Must have CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Must have impeccable references and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous
- Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction
