Job Summary

Open the facility Monday through Friday, conducting a complete walkthrough and inspection to ensure all building systems and equipment operate properly. Monitor and maintain ice quality by driving the Ice Resurfacer to resurface ice, performing edging, repairs, seasonal installation and removal, and assisting with ice painting. Operate and maintain the ice edger, skate sharpening equipment, and power tools while coordinating weekly deliveries of propane and blades. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, locker rooms, and common spaces; perform general facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Monitor mechanical systems like cooling towers and HVAC, develop preventative maintenance schedules, and maintain work order documentation. Greet patrons courteously, sharpen rental skates, and assist with set-up for special events and community programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience operating/maintaining Ice Resurfacer
  • Prior custodial/maintenance experience
  • Must hold a valid Class D driver's license
  • Must possess CPR/First Aid certificates within three months of hiring
  • Complete annual District trainings including, but not limited to, Sexual Harassment Training, Blood Borne Pathogens annually and Mandated Reporter every three years
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one settings
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Possess computer skills with the ability to learn and use new computer software
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Building trade degree or Certified Ice Technician (CIT) preferred
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC
