Job Summary
Cemetery Services Specialist responsible for openings and closings for burials, entombments, and inurnments, and for installing memorials and markers. Performs grounds and facilities maintenance, completes work orders from client families, conducts Interment Verification Procedures, prepares burial sites (including 25-foot radius preparation), and ensures areas are clean. Operates a range of handheld and mechanical equipment, adheres to safety standards and company policies, and contributes to asset maintenance and preventive upkeep. Requires ability to lift up to 30 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and participate in required training such as Dignity University.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Minimum six months experience operating standard equipment
- Valid driving record and applicable license(s) to operate equipment/vehicles
- Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment (shovel, pick, rake, sledge hammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower, chainsaw)
- Ability to operate mechanical equipment (dump truck, tractor, utility vehicle, marker trailer, dump trailer, jack hammer, tamper, backhoe)
- Ability to read measuring devices (tape measure, yardstick)
- Effective communication with colleagues, contractors and client families
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Compliance with safety and Universal Precautions
- Willingness to complete Dignity University courses and other training
