Job Summary
The Cemetery Groundskeeper role involves maintaining the cemetery grounds and facilities with attention to detail and a high level of service, including landscape maintenance (weeding, mowing), equipment upkeep, support for funeral services, safe operation of machinery, installation of vaults and headstones/memorials, snow removal when applicable, and general maintenance tasks as directed by the Grounds Superintendent. Strong emphasis on compassion, customer focus, ethics, and teamwork, with requirements for 2+ years in maintenance, high school equivalency, ability to lift 80 lbs, valid driver’s license, and flexibility to work holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School equivalency
- 2+ years experience in maintenance or related field
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery
- Ability to read and execute memos and directives from supervisor and/or management
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 80lbs
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license
- Availability to work some holidays, evenings and weekends as needed
