Cellular Therapy Laboratory Specialist

Job Summary
Perform aseptic processing of cellular therapy products including cryopreservation, thawing, cell depletions, enrichments, and infusions while adhering to cGTP/cGMP regulatory requirements. Manipulate cells for cancer patients undergoing stem cell transplantation and accurately calculate and report cell doses to clinical staff. Store, transport, and document all processing activities; maintain equipment through quality control, maintenance, and routine cleaning per Standard Operating Procedures. Effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, and stakeholders; recognize and correct instrument malfunctions within the operator's manual scope. Report non-conformance, investigations, and deviations to the Lab Manager and Quality Manager in a timely manner. Work Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30p with flexibility for holidays, weekends, and evenings to accommodate patient collections.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science field from an accredited institution
- Flexibility to work some holidays, weekends, and evenings as needed to accommodate patient collections
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to perform defined calculations and work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

- Certification by a recognized certifying agency for clinical laboratory professionals (ASCP, ASMT, NCA, etc.) preferred
