Job Summary
Develop personalized lesson plans for cello and violin students of varying skill levels, covering technique, music theory, and repertoire. Teach core skills using online tools like metronomes and notation apps while guiding practice routines and performance preparation. Provide regular progress updates to students and parents, offering constructive feedback on musicality and addressing individual challenges. Manage lesson schedules, track attendance, and assist with technical setup for virtual sessions. Required Qualifications
- Degree in Music, Performance or Education (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in teaching cello/violin (online or in-person)
- Expertise in violin or cello technique and repertoire
- Ability to teach students of varying ages and musical backgrounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to motivate learners remotely
- Familiarity with music theory, sight-reading and ear-training techniques
- Reliable internet connection, computer with webcam and microphone
- Proficiency with virtual teaching tools (Zoom, Google Meet or music teaching apps)
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in a music program (Suzuki Method, ABRSM or Royal Conservatory)
- Professional performance experience
