Job Summary
Perform GMP aseptic cell culture activities including media preparation, cell thaws, cell expansion, harvesting, and cryopreservation using standard cell culture technologies in a cleanroom environment. Follow Batch Production Records, Standard Operating Procedures, and work instructions; participate in maintenance of supplies, equipment, product testing, storage and distribution. Responsibilities include documentation of tasks and deviations, processing blood/cord/blood/tissue samples under cGMPs, executing CFU assays and flow cytometry, training others on SOPs, supporting environmental monitoring, and assisting with equipment maintenance. On-site in San Diego, CA, with a Tuesday–Friday 8:00am–6:30pm shift. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with biotech experience; prior GMP/cGMP cell culture experience is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in cell biology or related field with 1+ years industry experience
- Or Associate degree in related area and/or a Biotech Program certificate from an accredited college with 2+ years industry experience
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Proficient in standard cell culture methods including cell counts and viability assessments
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail oriented and able to prioritize work
- Able to work both as a team member and independently
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production priorities
- Must maintain confidentiality and integrity
- Biotech certificate valued, not required
