Job Summary
Own the Cell Platform product between firmware and application software, managing roadmap, releases, and relationships with robotics, software, and manufacturing teams. Lead hands-on development of embedded Linux/BSP, sensor integration, real-time kernel configuration, and data transport architecture for robot cells. Drive OTA updates, fleet provisioning, and device observability while defining the commercial engine for AI-driven manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of production-fleet ownership
- 8+ years of industry experience at AV, humanoid, AMR, or drone companies
- Embedded Linux/BSP depth: kernel, drivers, device trees, boot, and BSP management
- Platform bring-up on NVIDIA Jetson and x86 targets
- Sensor integration and evaluation at the driver, SDK, and middleware-wrapper levels
- Design and run of sensor evaluations (latency, sync, driver stability, thermal)
- Emphasis on GMSL2 and PoE cameras
- Configuration and validation of real-time Linux kernels
- CPU isolation, IRQ affinity, and RT scheduling policies
- Understanding of interaction between RT configuration, DDS middleware, and zero-copy transport paths
- ROS 2 and DDS/RMW internals
- QoS and node composition
- Zero-copy transport
- Reasoning about functional and optimal data transport on single-compute and distributed-compute architectures
- Evaluation of alternatives against measured budgets
- Sourcing, bringing up, and qualifying sensors/computes/networking on real robots
- Comfort owning a BOM and working the seam with mechanical/electrical engineering
- Design of images with deliberate layer ordering for build cache
- Multi-stage builds and minimal runtime images
- Orchestration of multi-container systems on robot computes
- CI/CD pipelines
- Artifact/registry management
- Versioned release discipline
- OTA at fleet scale
- Device observability
