Job Summary
CEI Inspector for Transportation Market observes and inspects roadway construction, prepares daily inspection reports and constructability reviews, oversees earthwork, erosion control, reinforced concrete, and equipment installation, reviews plans and shop drawings, maintains daily logs, coordinates with contractors and client personnel, advises on non-compliance, verifies highway work zones and traffic-control setups meet contract requirements, assists with submittals and RFIs, and utilizes inspection tools and computer systems to collect data and reporting. The role contributes to safe, compliant roadway projects and offers growth within a people-first culture.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years construction or inspection experience on roadway projects
- Completion of a 2- or 4-year engineering technology or engineering program (preferred)
- Licenses/registrations/certifications such as TDOT CEI certifications are a plus and may be required post-hire
- Preferably Level 1, and Level 2, EPSC Training Program
- Familiarity with TDOT specifications and documents
- Strong data-entry and reporting skills
- Ability to learn inspection tools and computer systems
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
