Job Summary
Observe contractor work on active construction sites to determine progress and quality. Perform complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, including making engineering computations, inspecting work, and conducting field tests. Review and interpret contract documents to verify compliance, maintain detailed records of daily operations, and perform sampling and field testing of materials. Coordinate and manage junior inspectors while directing, guiding, and mentoring them. This role requires working outside in Denver, CO, with a valid driver's license and vehicle operation skills. Salary ranges from $67,000 to $104,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent and seven years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- experience in construction inspection, including exposure to bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or a degree in civil engineering
- materials sampling/testing certifications
- valid driver's license
- be insurable
- be able to safely operate a vehicle on the highway and on construction sites
- passion for working outside
- tolerance for exposure to the elements
