Job Summary
Analyze, reconcile, and pay ceded reinsurance premiums under various treaties while compiling bordereaux from multiple underwriting and accounting systems. Research coverage and liability issues by applying insurance concepts to specific facts, then communicate with reinsurers and brokers to recover outstanding treaty account balances. Monitor aging of balances, recommend corrective actions for anomalies, and support the treaty team in clearing sub-ledger payable and receivable balances. Complete quarterly SOX requirements, assist with claim audit preparations, and analyze data to prepare management reports. This role supports the Corporate Reinsurance Treaty Administration Team, requiring a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and one to two years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum one to two years in accounting or insurance experience
- Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance accounting principles, practices and procedures
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners
- Ability to work independently
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and effectively resolve reinsurance issues
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software
- Solid data management skills
- Microsoft Excel skills
- Financial reconciliation skills
- Accounting skills
- Ability to analyze data, prepare, and present reports to management
