Job Summary
CDSClear Engineering Manager leads the London-based CDSClear Clearing Platform engineering team. You will manage development of software components handling market connectivity, trade registration, trade life-cycling and reporting, collaborate with Risk, QA, IT Support and other teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, and drive continuous improvement across the IT stack. The role emphasizes partnership with business stakeholders to translate requirements into high-impact production changes, lead multi-person teams, and leverage automation, AI tooling, and a Java/Oracle-based stack within a hybrid on-premise/cloud environment. You will oversee production and test systems support, ensure data quality controls, and contribute to strategic platform improvements while communicating effectively with stakeholders across Risk, Product, Compliance, and Operations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading engineering teams
- Java/Oracle stack proficiency
- Financial services domain experience
- Knowledge of external connectivity protocols (FpML)
- Understanding of trade capture and lifecycle in derivatives
- Experience with DevOps tools (GitLab, Ansible, Terraform, Helm)
- Awareness of AI tooling to improve development quality and speed
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Delivery management of multi-month initiatives
- Experience with cloud/hybrid environments (AWS)
- Knowledge of market risk reporting is useful
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading multi-person engineering teams
- Knowledge of AI tooling to accelerate development and/or improve quality
- AWS Cloud Architecture experience
- Derivatives knowledge including Credit Derivative Trade Capture and Life-Cycling
- Proficiency with Java/Oracle stack in financial services
- Strong DevOps tooling experience (GitLab, Ansible, Terraform, Helm)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and delivery leadership
- Strong understanding of SDLC and production support
- Experience with external market connectivity and protocol implementations (FpML)
- Automation and test tooling mindset
