Job Summary
CDL Yard Jockey (Spotter/Switcher) at US 1 Shorthaul — home daily, full-time, non-exempt. Move trailers in and out of the dock with yard goats, perform drop and hook, conduct yard audits, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections with reports on truck condition. Follow safety-sensitive guidelines, operate the Yard Management System (YMS), and communicate effectively in English. Requires 12 months of trailer spotting or over-the-road experience, ability to back 48'-53' trailers, and preferred Class A CDL. Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening; PSP below 90; no recent felonies. Home daily with no OTR travel.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 12 months of over the road or trailer spotting experience in the last 3 years
- Experience backing 48' to 53' trailers (including to dock doors and in tight spaces)
- Class A CDL (preferred)
- PSP below 90
- Clearinghouse consent
- No felony convictions within past 7 years
- No drug-related charges or past failed drug screens
- No SAP programs
- Background check and pre-hire drug test
- DOT compliance and safety requirements
- Ability to read, understand, and demonstrate safety rules and operating instructions
