Job Summary
Operate heavy-duty trucks with front, side, or rear-end load lift attachments to transport waste, recyclable material, and large mobile open-top containers from customer locations to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities. Navigate high-traffic roadways, congested driveways, alleyways, and lots while performing highly skilled backing maneuvers in residential and industrial environments. Perform pre and post-trip inspections, document checks, and completely dump receptacles leaving customer locations clean. Follow route assignments as directed by Operations Manager or Dispatch, communicate customer requests, and report service interruptions or safety hazards immediately. Complete end-of-day documentation, attend scheduled training programs, and comply with all Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and federal laws.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL
- 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
- Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air-brake endorsement
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with an air-brake endorsement
