Job Summary
Conduct pre- and post-trip DOT inspections of tandem or tri-axle dump trucks, documenting findings and maintaining a clean, safe vehicle. Safely drive these trucks to various job sites and offices, inspecting loads for correct placement and verifying site stability before dumping. Operate devices to tilt bodies and dump contents while strictly adhering to DOT, EPA, OSHA, and MSHA regulations. Report all accidents and injuries immediately and follow Superintendent or Facility Manager directions for each project. Maintain regular attendance and participate in routine safety meetings.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience
- Class A or B CDL
- strong work ethic
- Must have the ability to drive an automatic or manual shift truck
- Ability to read, analyze, and process documents such as operating and maintenance manuals, scheduling charts, policy and procedure manuals, repair records, maps, DOT regulations and equipment performance handbooks
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with coworkers, leaders, customers and third-party vendors
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out work in written, verbal, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation
- Knowledge of EPA, state EPA, DOT, OSHA, MSHA and other related state and federal regulations
- Ability to use email, smart phone, tablet or computer to manage company information and documents
- Ability to maintain regular attendance based on employee handbook guidelines
- CDL is required
- Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing
