Job Summary
Conduct daily loading and unloading of cargo using a tractor-trailer combination, securing loads per FMCSA and CDOT regulations. Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections on the truck and trailer, reporting defects to the Transportation and Logistics Manager. Maintain accurate records of cargo quantities and type, and plan travel routes to ensure safety and timeliness. Provide excellent customer service with an attitude of gratitude while interacting with internal and external clients. Stand ready for cross-training in other departments and act as backup for assigned areas as required. Operate company vehicles for business purposes, including tire chain procedures when necessary. Work a varied schedule involving evenings, weekends, and holidays to support Goodwill of Colorado's retail support centers.
Required Qualifications
- A current and valid Commercial Drivers License with valid medical certification
- Must have an established safe driving record
- A valid CDL endorsement
- Must be at least 21 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation)
- Must be at least 25 years of age for CDL
- Must have valid Colorado State driver license
- Must be able to operate company vehicle
- Must adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
- Must be able to use a dolly and pallet jack
- Must be able to work a varied schedule that could include evenings, weekends, and holidays with overtime as necessary
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers
- Must be able to read and follow maps
- Must have the ability to stand-in for long haul operations as a short-term solution, while following FMCSA rules/guidelines for hours-of-service compliance
- Must be able to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check
- Must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)
- Must be able to drive for company business
- Must have valid vehicle insurance (if using personal vehicle for company business)
- Must have a vehicle in roadworthy condition (if using personal vehicle for company business)
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting (45 lbs & over) frequently
- Must be able to carry heavy loads (45 lbs & over) frequently
- Must be able to push/pull frequently
- Must be able to reach at shoulder frequently
- Must be able to twist frequently
- Must be able to bend frequently
- Must be able to walk frequently
- Must be able to stand frequently

Desired Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two (2) years of CDL truck driving experience
