Job Summary
Transport detainees, search for contraband, and provide security by performing 'pat' and 'strip' searches, including squatting and climbing ladders. Drive transport vehicles to move non-citizens while observing them, restrain assaultive detainees as needed, and transfer individuals by walking or riding. Work rotating shifts and all posts assignments to maintain custody and discipline. Requires a valid Texas CDL with passenger endorsement, bus driver training completion, and a clean driving record. High school diploma required; prior corrections experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid CDL in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record
- Successful completion of a bus driver training program
- Successful completion of all local state requirements for a commercial driver's license
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Must be able to work all posts assignments
