Job Summary
Safely operate commercial motor vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and crew members to job sites. Load or assist with loading and unloading construction materials and equipment. Utilize hand tools to dig near existing underground utilities and support excavation, installation, backfilling, and restoration activities. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles and assist in securing the work site, vehicle, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift. Prepare documents, reports, or job aids related to work performed, vehicle inspections, equipment, and safety. Perform general labor and miscellaneous duties as assigned to support project success. This union position includes paid on-the-job technical and professional training.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Ability to pass DOT-required drug & alcohol testing requirements
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods and perform repeated physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching
- Strong commitment to working safely and following established procedures
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel as needed for projects
Additional Requirements
- This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
