Job Summary
Operate jockey trucks to transfer full and empty trailers between holding and processing areas, updating the Yard Management System in real-time and conducting daily yard checks. Perform pre-op inspections, post-op cleaning, and manage refrigerated unit settings while maintaining contact with the gate and dock office to coordinate trailer rotations. Ensure all equipment operates legally and safely per DOT requirements, including load security and hours of service, while assisting vendors and service technicians as needed. Work Monday through Friday from 10:00pm to 6:30am, with potential weekend shifts based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class A CDL license
- Strong reading and writing skills for accurate system entries and recordkeeping
- Ability to Work outdoors year-round in seasonal temperatures
- Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required
- Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces
- May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 25 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit
- May handle products varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db
- Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00pm to 6:30am, potential weekends based on business need
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience in a distribution warehouse
- Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment
