Job Summary
Provide in-person CDL instruction to students, including demonstrations of Full Pre-Trip Inspection, Basic Control Skills, and Road Driving; supervise trainees, complete training documentation, and ensure safety and company standards are followed; deliver daily instruction in classroom and behind-the-wheel settings; meet licensure and DOT requirements (CDL Class A, medical, and drug screening) and participate in onboarding and ongoing training to maintain instructor qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- No more than two moving violations in a 12-month period, and/or no more than three in a 24-month period
- Minimum of 3 years over-the-road or local commercial driving experience, and/or minimum criteria to obtain instructor licensure
- Must pass and maintain a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- Must pass a DOT drug test and hair follicle drug test (HFT) and agree to random and suspicion-based drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to effectively communicate and deliver training to students
- Completion of onboarding and continuing education as required by the company
- Ability to supervise trainees and maintain training records
