Job Summary
Conduct classroom sessions on safety regulations, driving techniques, and road signs while providing hands-on behind-the-wheel training for CDL students. Develop training plans, monitor progress through practical evaluations, and offer constructive feedback to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Stay updated on regulatory changes, document all activities accurately, and assist students in preparing for written and road exams. Coordinate test appointments and support operations with route completion and safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid class A CDL
- Satisfactory driving record
- 3 years' experience of full-time driving a tractor-trailer
- Considerable knowledge of CDL requirements
- Considerable knowledge of equipment
- Ability to maintain accurate records, assemble and organize data, and prepare reports
- Ability to utilize business system applications and software (Microsoft Office)
- Techniques for effectively representing Spartan Carrier Group, including making effective public presentations and dealing with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
