Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive CDL training courses for basic, advanced, and specialized tractor-trailer skills. Communicate instructions to students, assess performance, and provide guidance on maneuvers at the skills driving range and on public roads. Drive in 4 to 12 hour shifts while demonstrating curriculum subject matter and exceeding industry objectives. Maintain a safe driving record and adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including DOT drug/alcohol screening. Work nights and weekends with home time, supported by health benefits, paid vacations, and a 401K match.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL License
- Minimum two (2) years of practical trucking related experience that demonstrates instructional competency
- A safe CDL A driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of safe truck driving and all of the laws and regulations covering tractor-trailer interstate operations
- Knowledge of the SAGE curriculum subject matter
- Knowledge, skill, and actual performance abilities that far exceed the abilities identified in the objectives of the curriculum
- Ability to communicate instructions to students
- Ability to assess student performance
- Ability to provide students guidance on performing maneuvers on a skills driving range and in the truck on roads in 4 to 12 hour shifts
- Meeting the minimum qualifications for interstate tractor-trailer drivers in accordance with all requirements of the applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including, but not limited to, meeting the physical and driver qualification standards of Part 391
- Ability to pass as D.O.T. drug/alcohol screen
